Le Rustichelle—Chitarrone made with only 100% Abruzzese durum wheat and free-range eggs—is inspired by the pasta the Peduzzi family grew up eating at Sunday family gatherings. It has rich flavor (the dough consists of 30% free-range eggs and no water) and an exceptionally rough surface that holds sauce beautifully. The gift tube’s design honors their grandfather Gaetano Sergiacomo’spastificio which eventually became Rustichella d'Abruzzo.
Serve with a hearty meat sauce or simply tossed with extra virgin olive oil and ripe cherry tomatoes.
